As we can see from the company list, the most mobile telecommunications operating companies are paired with BVI investment holding companies. This is quite prominent example of BVI company use as investment holding company. 30 Chinese mobile telecommunications operators are owned through 30 BVI investment holding companies, and another 3 BVI investment companies as well as Chinese and Cayman Islands holding company are used in the structure.

As of 31 December 2006, China Mobile Group had a Mainland China market share of approximately 67.5%. The Group's GSM global roaming services covered 219 countries and regions, and its GPRS roaming services covered 138 countries and regions.

In 2006, the Company was once again chosen by Financial Times as one of the “FT Global 500”, and was included it the list of “The World's 2000 Biggest Public Companies” by Forbes magazine.
